Rock the Block 2018
The Junior and Senior Boys Rock the Block tournament was held in the rink on October 13th.
The Junior boys tournament consisted of: Dinsmore, Davidson, Beechy, Kindersley and Elrose. Congratulations to Kindersley who won the tournament. Dinsmore had some great games and lost a hard fought 3 game match to Beechy in the semi-final.
The Senior boys tournament consisted of: Dinsmore, Beechy, Kindersley, Elrose, Rosetown, Cut Knife, Biggar and Eston. DCS played well and had some close matches, but unfortunately did not make the final. Congratulations to Cut Knife who defeated Eston to capture the tournament championship.
The tournament would not have been a success without the help of:
Mrs. Morrison – the Canteen was second to none! Your countless hours behind the scenes (and the day of) do not go unnoticed and are greatly appreciated.
DCS Staff – for helping in the kitchen
Mr. Morrison – for getting the courts ready
The Kitchen Auxiliary – for cleaning the kitchen prior to us using it
The Rink Board – for allowing us to use the facility
The Parents – for making soup/chili, working a shift at the door and/or in the kitchen, and for cheering from the stands
Hayley, Paige, Ainsley & Brayden – for working the door and scorekeeping/linesing
The SRC – for offsetting the costs of the Officials
The Refs – Mr. Gary Dodds, Mr. Ed Pihach, Miss Jocelyn Thorpe and Miss Jordyn Mann. We appreciate you giving up a Saturday to help us out
PCCU – for the donation of bottles of water and granola bars for the players
The Community – for coming to watch and by purchasing food from the Canteen
The Jr. and Sr. Boys Volleyball Players – for set up/clean up and for being great ambassadors for our school
