What is Office 365?
Office 365 is an online platform that provides a number of options for all Sun West School Division students, including email, word processing, and presentation tools.

How it is used?
At DCS, students use Office 365:
- to email (Outlook),
- type documents (Word),
- access their lessons (One Note),
- create presentations (PowerPoint),
                                                                      and much more!  

How can families use it?
Families can access Office 365 products using a laptop, computer, iPad or smartphone.

How can my child log in?
Students have been given a username and password. Please note, students accessing Office 365 from home will be prompted to provide extra verification to ensure saftety. The Sun West IT department has provided the following information to explain the Multi-Factor Authentication process.

Students can access Microsoft products at home (e.g. email, One Note, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). In order to access these products, students will be prompted to provide extra verification to ensure safety. Sun West IT Department has created the following Help Sheet to explain the at-home registration process:

Multi-Factor Authentication

MFA provides a secondary means of verifying your identity, such as a text message or notification on your mobile device, when accessing your email account when you are at home or on the road.  It will not affect how you log in while you are using the Sun West network.
 
We ask that you take a few moments to set up an alternate authentication method using the link below.  I would highly recommend using the mobile app notification, however, text message or phone call will also work just fine.  If you choose the app, it is useful to install the application on your phone or tablet before starting the process.  The app will require access to your device’s camera as well as permission to display notifications, so please do not block these if you are asked.
